Calling in His Own Prescription Lands Man in Jail, Police Say

The man used a false name and fraudulently obtained DEA number in an attempt to get Tylenol with codeine.

A St. Charles man tried to call in his own prescription to a pharmacy using a fake name, St. Peters Police said.

Shane Keppler, 20, of the first block of Bel Rae Court in , was charged Aug. 16 with fraudulently trying to obtain a controlled substance.

said Keppler called in a prescription for Tylenol with codeine to at 530 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters. Keppler used a false name and a fraudulently obtained Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number, according to the police report.

Keppler was on probation for stealing a controlled substance in 2010.

Bond was set at $15,000.
