Cleanup Begins at Circle K Convenience Store After Fire

Crews were out early Tuesday morning cleaning up after the fire destroyed the St. Peters gas station store.

The morning after a massive fire at the Circle K in St. Peters, cleanup crews were at the scene picking up the damage.

A fire that Central County Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Steve Brown said may have started in a storage closet broke out Monday afternoon. Firefighters were on the scene for several hours battling the blaze.

Just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday the sound of a chain saw could be heard as crews began picking up and cleaning out the debris. A pile of rubble—notably the front mansard that displayed the Circle K logo—sat in front of the store as crews were working inside and out to pick up the mess.
