St. Charles County deputies responding to a call found a Harvester man near a burglarized home Monday with items stolen from the home.
Jacob Shearer, 28, of the 4000 block of Cambridge Crossing Drive, was charged with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft.
A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy said Shearer also left evidence behind in the home in the first block of Cambridge Crossing Court. He had taken $51.97 in change from the home, the deputy said.
According to a court document, another person who had been with Shearer told police Shearer told him he burglarized the residence and returned to the house with his accomplice a second time.
Shearer is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $10,000, cash only.
