Father and Son Fight With Home Depot Security in St. Peters, Police Say

St. Peters Police said the duo stole shingles from the store July 7 and attempted to do so again Sunday.

A father and son stealing shingles from Home Depot struggled with security guards in the parking lot, and the son punched one man, police said.

Joshua Wilson, 21, was charged with second-degree robbery, and Robert J. Wilson, 48, was charged with felony stealing. Both are from the 4000 block of Domenico Court in Bridgeton.

St. Peters Police said Joshua and Robert J. Wilson stole 13 packages of shingles from Home Depot on Mid Rivers Mall Drive July 7, and returned to the store Sunday and attempted to steal 13 more shingle packages.

Two security guards went out to the Wilsons’ car to stop them from driving off. Police said Joshua Wilson punched one guard in the face, kicked him and attempted to flee. Robert J. Wilson, who was driving, struggled with the guard before being detained, police said.

Robert and Joshua Wilson each posted a $25,000 bond and were released from St. Charles County jail on Tuesday.
