Highway Patrol: Speeding St. Peters Woman Loses Control of SUV

A St. Peters woman was seriously injured following a Monday-evening crash on Interstate 70.

Jaquey L. Hopkins, 49, was taken to St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles by St. Charles County Ambulance following her-one car crash. The Missouri State Highway Patrol lists her condition as serious. 

According to the crash report, Hopkins was heading eastbound on I-70 east of Zumbehl Road just after 6:30 p.m.. The Highway Patrol reports Hopkins was in lane No. 2 at a high rate of speed. She moved into lane No. 1 before quickly switching back to lane two.

As a result of the quick change, Hopkins lost control of her 1997 Chevrolet Blazer. The Blazer travelled off the right side of the road and overturned. 

Hopkins vehicle was totaled in the crash.

The crash report said Hopkins was wearing a safety device.
