Jefferson City Woman Sentenced for St. Peters Bank Robbery, Five Others

Dwashan Trakese Thompson was sentenced for a February 2010 bank robbery.

Dwashan Trakese Thompson, 38, of Jefferson City,  to seven years and three months in federal prison without parole for committing six bank robberies, including one in .

Thompson was sentenced on Monday in federal court by U.S. Chief District Judge Fernando J. Gaitan. The court also ordered Thompson to pay $57,794 in restitution.

Thompson pleaded guilty to a string of bank robberies across the area. She admitted that she stole $27,662 from Truman Bank in St. Peters, on Feb. 22, 2010.

On July 12, 2011, Thompson pleaded guilty to an indictment in the Western District of Missouri that charges her with two bank robberies. Thompson admitted that she stole $1,605 from Missouri Credit Union in Jefferson City on Dec. 20, 2010. She also admitted that she stole $11,850 from Hawthorn Bank in Jefferson City on Dec. 28, 2010. 

Later Thompson also pleaded guilty to an indictment in the Eastern District of Missouri that charges her with four bank robberies. In each robbery, Thompson wore a black ski mask and demanded money from the tellers. Thompson admitted that she stole $9,500 from Martinsburg Bank and Trust in Montgomery City, Mo., on Dec. 23, 2009. She admitted to robbing Truman Bank and admitted that she stole $16,000 from First National Bank in Weldon Springs, Mo., on July 10, 2010. She also admitted that she stole $5,465 from St. Johns Bank and Trust in St. Charles, Mo., on Sept. 25, 2010.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Lawrence E. Miller (Western District of Missouri) and Michael A. Bert (Eastern District of Missouri). It was investigated by the FBI.
