Man Stole Sunglasses Valued at $1,190 From Mall, Police Say

St. Peters Police said the man stole five pairs of Versace sunglasses and jeans.

A St. Louis man is accused of stealing several pair of sunglasses valued at $1,190 from a Mid Rivers Mall store.

DaJuan Stansberry, 28, of the first block of South Compton in St. Louis, was charged Jan. 14 with felony theft.

St. Peters Police said Stansberry stole five pairs of Versace sunglasses, valued at $1,190, from the Sunglasses Hut at Mid Rivers Mall on Jan. 11.

Police said when Stansberry was arrested, he had several pairs of jeans stolen from another store in the mall. The jeans, valued at $319, were damaged when the security tags were removed, according to the report.

Police said Stansberry said he stole the merchandise to support his drug habit.

Stansberry was being held in St. Charles County jail on Friday. Bail was set at $10,000, cash only.
