St. Charles County Woman Charged Merchandise to Fake ID

St. Peters Police said Jovanna Davis used a fake ID to buy items at Home Depot and Weekends Only stores.

A St. Charles County woman faces a felony theft charge after using a fake ID at several stores in St. Louis County.

Jovanna Davis, 35, of the 3300 block of Arlington Avenue in the Harvester area in St. Charles County, was charged with identity theft March 22.

St. Peters Police said Davis told them a man approached her and asked if she wanted to work for him “since she was unemployed and needed money to support her five children.”

Davis told police she agreed, and the man told her to get a passport photo and to give it to him. Soon, an Illinois driver’s license arrived in the mail with another person’s information and Davis’ photo. Davis said she met the man at Home Depot stores in Overland, Bridgeton and Ferguson and a Weekends Only store in Bridgeton.

She purchased merchandise at each store using the person’s credit information. The man told her that furniture had already been selected at the Weekends Only store.

Total amount of items purchased was $9,450.

Davis is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $25,000, cash only.
