Motorcyclist Seriously Injured While Trying to Avoid Deer on Hwy. 94

A deer on Route 94 caused Mark K. Clayton, 55, to strike a guardrail and sustain serious injuries.

A St. Peters man was seriously injured after crashing his motorcycle on Route 94 on Sunday evening. 

Mark K. Clayton, 55, of St. Peters, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Couer after being in a one-vehicle crash at 9 p.m. on Sunday. The Missouri State Highway Patrol lists his injuries as serious. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Clayton was heading east on Route 94 when he swerved to avoid a deer in road. Clayton's 2012 Harley Davidson went off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. The impact of the crash caused Clayton to be ejected from his motorcycle.

Clayton's motorcycle sustained extensive damage in the crash. According to the crash report, Clayton was wearing a safety device.
