St. Peters Man Dies While Fleeing Truesdale Police

Ted Fitzgerald died after crashing his truck while fleeing police at a high rate of speed.

A man died after crashing his car while trying to flee Truesdale Police.

Ted Fitzgerald, 27, died Sunday evening in Warren County on Veterans Memorial Parkway at South Stracks Church Road.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Fitzgerald was fleeing police at a high rate of speed. He failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and struck a guardrail. Fitzgerald's 2006 Chevrolet 1500 overturned across South Stracks Church Road, ejecting Fitzgerald from the vehicle.

The vehicle struck the guardrail on the east side of South Stracks Church Road and caused the truck to travel south across Veterans Memorial Parkway and strike the southeast guardrail and come to a rest on its wheels in a field.

Warren County Coroner Roger Mauzy pronouced Fitzgerald dead at the scene at 11:51 p.m. He was taken to Pittman Funeral Home in Wentzville.
