St. Peters Police To Conduct Sobriety Checkpoints

Checkpoint will take place between April 22 and April 30.

Law enforcement officers in the St. Charles County area will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in an undisclosed location in St. Peters. The exact date and time of the checkpoint will not be released, but it will be sometime between April 22 and April 30.

“It’s never worth the risk to drive while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  Drivers could lose their license, pay large fines, or worst of all, cause a tragic loss of life,” St. Peters Police Chief Tom Bishop said in a press release.

In 2009, 281 people died and 1,141 people were seriously injured in alcohol-related traffic crashes in Missouri. Impaired driving contributes to 30 percent of all Missouri traffic fatalities.
