Man Burgled Four Homes in Harvester Area, Deputy Says

Police said the man, who stole from cars parked in attached garages, came face-to-face with one homeowner in the midst of a burglary.

A Harvester man faces criminal charges after police said he entered four homes in the Harvester area on Sept. 19 and Sept. 20.

Cory D. Blessing, 21, of the 3300 block of Hampton Crossing in the Harvester area, was charged with four counts of first-degree burglary.

A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy said in a report that Blessing entered an attached garage in the 1300 block of Mason Grove on Sept. 19 and stole a Garmin GPS system from a vehicle. The homeowner came into the garage, interrupted the burglary in progress and came face-to-face with Blessing, the deputy reported.

The same day, he entered an attached garage at home in the 3600 block of Summit Drive and stole sunglasses valued at $150.

The deputy reported that Blessing stole $3.63 in change from a car in a garage in the 100 block of Calidian Court, where a witness saw him putting something in his pocket. He also entered a garage in the 3500 block of Sommerset Hills, according to the report.

Deputies saw Blessing in the 4900 block of Poppie Marie Sept. 20 near the area where burglaries had just occurred and he fled from them, according to the report. He was caught after a brief foot chase. The deputy reported Blessing had the sunglasses taken from the home on Summit Drive. He also had one black glove and one sock.

“The suspect has become a chronic offender in the Harvester area for the past two days,” a deputy wrote in his report. “The suspect pawned several items believed to be stolen and are under investigation.”

The residents were home during each of the four burglaries, according to court documents.

Bail was set at $60,000.
