Update: Missing Adult Found Safe

St. Peters Police said Cara Ascencio, who had been missing since January, was found safe in Illinois.

Ascencio, 21, had been missing since Jan. 31, but was found Sunday night. St. Peters Police Media Relations Officer Melissa Doss said Ascencio was found in Illinois and was safe. 

Police said Cara Ascencio, 21, left her residence after getting into an argument with a family member and has not been heard from since Jan. 31.  Police said Ascencio does not have a cell phone or access to any money or credit cards. Ascencio has a brain injury and other mental health issues which makes her mental capacity that of a 12 year old.
