Aldermen Scheduled to Get Back to Business Thursday

The St. Peters Board of Aldermen will host the first meeting of September at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8.

A full agenda for the work session await the St. Peters Board of Aldermen on Thursday night. 

At 5 p.m. at the the Board will meet for the first time in September. First up on the agenda is a discussion on Code Amendment Title IV Chapter 405, brought up by Ward 3 Alderman Gus Elliott. 

The discussion relates to a about reducing the amount of space between group homes. The current rule is 2,500 feet between group homes. The Board is debating if the distance should be reduced—up for discussion is the possibility of reducing the footage to 500 or 1,000 feet.

Other items on the work session agenda include:

  • The Board will hear an update to the study. 
  • A purchase order for a new dump truck will be presented. 
  • Owners of the shopping center that includes Toy R Us and Big Lots are requesting an extension of the community improvement district. In 2008, the area agreed to have improvements by Dec. 1, 2011. The owners want a two-year extension to finish the project.

Following the work session, at 7 p.m., the Board will conduct its regular meeting. The agenda for that meeting can be found here. The Board will vote on seven new ordinances at the meeting.
