Letter to the Editor: Mayor Pagano Supports Governor Nixon In Re-Election Bid

St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano encourages Missouri voters to keep Governor Jay Nixon in office.

People often ask me, “How do you keep getting things done in St. Peters?” We get things done for our residents because we work with other people and organizations, we look for the best solutions, and we believe real compromise is a good thing that helps make our city a great place to live, work, play and raise a family.

We don’t always agree on everything, but we’ve learned you can get a lot more done by focusing on the things that you can agree on, working together to achieve big goals.

In the last four years, we’ve all faced economic challenges. Yet, St. Peters has completed crucial projects like roads to help move people safely, bring customers to grow our existing businesses; bring new businesses and jobs to St. Peters. The unemployment rate in our region, and the State of Missouri, is lower that it is nationally. That’s because we have a well-trained workforce with a can-do attitude, a good business environment, and cooperation and collaboration on the local and state level.

One of our most important partners has been Governor Jay Nixon. Governor Nixon is always there for me when I call. He truly cares about the problems we have here on the local level. His Department of Economic Development has been at the ready with advice and information and we’ve had great results.

Companies are bringing new jobs here and we’re grateful for the help and encouragement we get at the state level. We don’t always agree on everything, but working together, we’re getting things done.

We’ve still got work to do. We need more jobs. We need to grow more businesses.  As mayor of a city that wants to keep getting things done, I’m hopeful that this November Missourians will vote to re-elect someone who knows how to get people to work together at the state and local level, Governor Jay Nixon.

Sincerely,

Len Pagano
St. Peters Mayor
