Meetings are scheduled for May 24, 25.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is hosting several meetings to discuss the Blanchette Bridge project.

Residents are invited to an information session set for 4-7 p.m. May 24 at on South Sixth Street.

Business owners are invited to attend the event scheduled for 9-10:30 a.m. March 25 in the Grand Ballroom at the  They are asked to RSVP to Susie King at Susie.King@stcharlescitymo.gov by May 18.

Tom Evers, MoDOT engineer, will explain the timeline, and offer business owners wayfinding tools like detour maps and driving information. Walsh Construction Company is expected to close westbound I-70 on the bridge starting the first week in November.

The traffic will be on the eastbound bridge for about a year.

"The morning and evening rush hours will be heavily congested on I-70, and commuters need to consider their options. We encourage major employers especially those with many employees who travel from St. Charles County to consider allowing flextime and alternate work hours and locations," said Ed Hassinger, MoDOT St. Louis District Engineer in a press release. "This isn't a full closure like the I-64 project, but all the same preparations need to be made to ensure everyone has a plan for how they will cope with the extra congestion on I-70 during peak hours."

Evers will also speak during a community forum at June 6 from 7 to 8 p.m. State Rep. Chrissy Sommer asks people to RSVP to Markus Vest at Markus.Vest@house.mo.gov.
