Planning and Zoning Meeting on Tap for Wednesday

St. Peters Commission set to have final meeting of 2011 at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

For the final time in 2011 the St. Peters Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to meet. 

At 6:30 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, the Commission will gather at the for the December meeting. Maybe, just maybe, this will be the meeting that the Commission hears from Truck Centers, Inc. 

on the Planning and Zoning agenda for the September meeting for a public hearing. The hearing never happened—truck centers was unable to attend. Truck Centers got put on the October agenda and again on the November agenda and each time was unable to make the meeting. At the November meeting, city staff informed the Commission that Truck Centers needed more time before coming to the meeting. They asked to come back in December, a move that the Commission agreed to approve.

So tonight, the first items on the agenda are public hearings for Truck Centers, Inc. The first hearing is a request for rezoning from the C-2 Community Commercial District to the C-3 General Commercial District located on the south side of Veterans Memorial  Parkway, east of Trade Center Drive (former Penske Truck Center). The second request is for a special use permit for a new motor vehicle franchise dealer operating a parts and service department in conjunction therewith (new/used trucks and trailers sales, parts, and service) located on the south side of Veterans Memorial Parkway, east  of Trade Center Drive (former Penske Truck Center).

  • In other old business, K&M  Lawncare & Landscaping is applying for a home occupation permit. 
  • Cornerstone Architecture, Inc. is also applying for a home occupation permit.
  • A public hearing is scheduled for CarMax Auto Superstores, Inc.
  • The Commission will view site plans from CarMax Auto Superstores, Fifth Third Bank and a CVS Pharmacy.
