St. Peters Aldermen Scheduled to Meet Thursday

Board meets for the first, and only, time in June at 5 p.m.

Things will be business as usual for the St. Peters Board of Aldermen on Thursday night. 

Normally the Board meets the first and third Thursday of every month, but the Board took off earlier this June. After the break, the Board returns to the Justice Center for a 5 p.m. work session and a 7 p.m. meeting. 

During the work session, the Board will resume discussion from March about park names. At the March 24 meeting, the Board talked about renaming the Rabbit Run annex Jack Gettemeyer Park. The Board couldn't reach a consensus on the issue in March and will resume talks in the work session.

Other items on the work session agenda include:

  • Aldermen Dave Thomas, Ward 1, will lead a discussion on how the Board deals with concerns from residents. 
  • The Board will go over bids for signal replacements on Mid Rivers Mall Drive. 
  • Proposed city code amendments to Chapters 300, 365 and 405 will be discussed. 

Following the work session the Board will go into the regular meeting. With only one meeting in June, the new business portion of the agenda in lenghty. The Board is set to vote on 19 items at the meeting.

Some highlights from the meeting's agenda are

  • The Board will vote on a resolution to sell General Obligation Refunding Bonds.
  • Changes in the building, fire, plumbing, mechnical, electrical and gas codes will be voted on. 
  • The Board will vote to authorize purchase for the Salt River Road project.
