St. Peters Will Close City Offices Monday for Veterans Days

Wondering what's open in St. Peters on Veterans Day? The Rec-Plex will be, but not much else.

Veterans Day is Sunday but the city of St. Peters will be recognizing the holiday on Saturday and Monday.

The city of St. Peters’ Veterans Memorial Commission will host a Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. The ceremony will take place at the Veterans Memorial in front of St. Peters City Hall.

The main speaker at the event will be Marine Veteran Tom Martin. Martin was a member of the famous Carlson’s Raiders of World War II. As part of the ceremony, St. Peters Follies, a group of young performers from the Cultural Arts Centre’ Performing Arts Studio, will also perform a musical tribute.

In case of bad weather, the ceremony will be moved inside City Hall.

Speaking of City Hall, the offices and the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre located in the west wing of City Hall will close on Monday to observe the holiday. In the same plaza, the St. Peters Rec-Plex will be open normal hours on Nov. 12; however, the administrative offices will be closed.

Also closed: the St. Peters Municipal Court at the St. Peters Justice Center will be not be open on Nov. 12.

Recycle City will be open for trash and yard disposal only on Nov. 12 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., but the offices are closed. The Recycle City recyclables drop-off center will be open all day. There will be no trash cart or yard waste cart pick-up that day.

St. Peters’ Earth Centre yard waste and compost facility will be open normal hours for yard waste acceptance only. No Earth Centre product sales will be available.

Animal control officers can be reached by calling Police Dispatch at 636.238.2222 for emergency calls only.
