Eric Seider Narrowly Edges Way On To Francis Howell Board

Seider is the lone newcomer to the two school boards in St. Peters.

Just 28 votes put Eric Seider on the Francis Howell Board of Education. 

After falling short last year, Seider got the necessary votes to join the Howell Board on Tuesday, April 3. His win unseats current Vice President Steve Johnson. The other winner in the race was incumbent Marty Hodits. 

Hodits was the top vote getter in the tight race. He earned 27.37 percent of the vote and tallied 3,403 total votes. Seider placed second with 3,048 votes, 24.54 percent. Johnson was right beind with 3,020 votes (24.29 percent). Marie Haupt rounded out the field with 2,916 votes (23.45 percent).

While a new face will be joining the Franics Howell Board, incumbents were the winner in . Mike MacCormack and Barbara Story retained their seats and will serve a three-year term

Story racked up the most votes with 3,353 (37.01 percent). MacCormack was second with 2,030, 22.41 percent. 

Mike Swaringim (1,850 votes, 20.43 percent) placed third. Jim Pepper finished in fourth with 1,772 votes (19.56 percent).

In the  Board of Trustees race, William R. Pundmann (13,207 votes, 42.43 percent) and Jean Poggemeier Ehlmann (13,470 votes, 43.27 percent) defeated AC Dienoff (4,267 votes, 13.71 percent) to earn a six-year term. 

In the two-year term race, William T. Lohman, Jr. picked up 16,395 votes, 98.86 percent, to keep his spot.
