In conjunction with local community partners, ClearPoint Credit Counseling Solutions invites consumers and small business owners to Secure Your ID Day, Saturday, October 27, for free on-the-spot document shredding, cell phone and computer/electronic recycling and take-home prevention resources to help protect them and recover from identity theft.

Consumers may bring up to three boxes or bags of documents to be shredded. Items should be removed from binders and staple free. Cell phones will be accepted for recycling with a 100% guarantee to strip all information contained on the phone. Computer and electronic recycling services will be offered with a certificate of destruction provided, and child fingerprinting will be offered by local law enforcement.

Secure Your ID Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, October 22 at two locations in the metro area:  Arsenal Credit Union at 8651 Watson Road in Webster Groves and Mid Rivers Mall in St. Peters.  Admittance and parking are free.

National Protect Your Identity Week runs from October 20-27 and was created by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) in order to bring attention to the growing ID Theft crisis. NFCC member credit counseling agencies, like ClearPoint, are seeing more and more clients who experience ensuing credit difficulties as a result of ID theft. For the twelfth year in a row, ID theft was also the subject most frequently complained about by consumers to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

The FTC reports that complaints about identity theft increased 13% in 2011 and represent nearly one-fifth of the entire number of complaints received by the agency.

Participating partners in this event include: Cintas Document Management, RNA Worldwide, AllClear ID, Arsenal Credit Union and the St. Peters and Webster Groves Police Departments.

We already have 2 dogs, so I don't think we are in a position to take on a third dog. Your ad caughtRead More my attention because I love German Shepherds and I had to put my Great Pyrenees to sleep in 2010. The mix of these 2 wonderful breeds makes your dog a really unique and interesting dog. If you could keep me aprised of her situation, I would appreciate it.
