Francis Howell Board to Discuss Tax Rate Thursday Night

The Francis Howell Board of Education will talk money at Thursday's meeting.

The District is currently in the midst of a budget battle. Declining state funds and lower property tax values are funnelling less money into the schools. For the current 2011-12 school year, the District is operating on a deficit budget.

At the work session of tonight's meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at the District offices, the Board will participate in a work session relating to the tax rate.

The work session documents reveal just how much money the District loss. Francis Howell expected to receive a certain amount of money in fiscal year 2011, but actually received much less.

the work session is just for information and discussion of the tax rate and money and not an action item by the Board.
