And the Winner is: Timberland's Erica Boyd Claims Athlete of the Week Crown

Timberland's keeper Erica Boyd wins the fan vote for St. Charles County Athlete of the Week.

Patch commenter  was right, goaltenders do win the championships.
In this  the goal was to find the fan's choice for the top girls soccer player from the first week of action. Matt commented on the post and said: "goal scoring wins games, goal keeping wins championships."

While the St. Charles Athlete of the Week may not be a big-time championship, Matt hit the nail on the head, because this week's winner was a goalie.

Boyd earned the support based on her steller play in net for the Wolves. Starting the first two games of the season for Timberland, Boyd picked up two wins. One of those wins came via a shutout and in the other Boyd allowed just one goal for a two game goals against average of 0.50. That's pretty good.
