Standing in the Lions way is Timberland. The Wolves are just 1-7, but one of those wins came in playoff action. Timberland lost last week and needs a win to stay in the playoff race.

 (0-8) at Mark Twain (1-7) at 7 p.m.

Lutheran lost week to strech its losing streak to 16 games. The good news is, the Cougars shutout streak of three games ended after Lutheran scored 12 points aginst Cloptop/Elsberry.

The Cougars will be taking on the Mark Twain Tigers in Week 9. After a deep playoff run by the Tigers last season, Mark Twain is struggling in 2011. The Tigers were decimated by gradation losing several key players at quarterback, running back and on the offensive line.

This battle of two down teams could be the Cougars best chance to pick up a win in 2011.
