Howell North's Braxton Martinez Picks Up Athlete of the Week Award

Braxton Martinez has been punishing pitchers around St. Charles County this season. 

The Francis Howell North product is a hitting star this season for the Knights and the fans have taken notice. In our , Martinez was the top vote getter. With 48 of the 74 votes (64 percent), Martinez won the top honors in our fan's choice for best baseball player so far this season. 

Here's how the voting went down: 

• Ryan March—: 2 votes (2 percent)
• Braxton Martinez—: 48 votes (64 percent)
• Cory Canterbury—: 2 votes (2 percent)
• Josh Abegg—: 22 votes (29 percent)

Total votes: 74 votes

Martinez, who will be attending Saint Louis University in the fall, has been tearing things up so far this season for the Knights. He's hitting .543 (19-for-35) with seven doubles, one homer and 16 RBIs. He's also scored 18 runs this season for the Howell North.
