Playoff Time: District Girls Soccer Kicks Off Today

Francis Howell, Troy Buchanan, and Orchard Farm High Schools will serve as host locations for soccer districts involving St. Peters-area schools.

Missouri Class 3 District 7

No. 1 seed – Francis Howell North Knights (14-6-1)

The skinny on the Knights: Finished second in the GAC South, had nine-game win streak in March and April, had another five-game win streak going until loss on Senior Night last Thursday.

  • Record in last eight games: 5-2-1.
  • Last week: Defeated Oakville 3-1 on Tuesday, defeated St. Charles West 3-1 on Wednesday, lost 2-1 against Fort Zumwalt South on Thursday.
  • Top scorers: Kelsey Fouch, Sr. – 15 G, 5 A; Megan Frkovic, Jr. – 11 G, 8 A.
  • Goalkeeper: Erica Wind, Jr. – 11-6-1, 8 ShO, 22 GA, 1.19 g/a average.
  • Will play: Fort Zumwalt East-Francis Howell Central winner, after earning first-round bye as district’s top seed. District semifinal will be played at Francis Howell High, and is scheduled for Wednesday, May 18, at 5 p.m.

No. 2 seed – Francis Howell Vikings (17-4-2)

The skinny on the Vikings: Finished third in the GAC South, electric team with the ball, scored three or more goals 11 times this season.

  • Record in last eight games: 5-1-2.
  • Last week: Defeated Marquette 1-0 on Monday, defeated Troy 3-1 on Tuesday.
  • Top scorers: Jordan Catalano, Fr. – 21 G, 5 A; Julie Mooney, Sr. – 14 G, 14 A; Melanie Hunt, Sr. – 10 G, 8 A.

No. 3 seed – Parkway Central Colts (13-6-1)

The skinny on the Colts: Finished fourth in Suburban South Conference, proven it can get hot with two five-game winning streaks this season.

  • Record in last eight games: 5-2-1.
  • Last week: Defeated Hazelwood Central 2-0 on Monday, lost 2-1 against Rockwood Summit on Tuesday.
  • Top scorer: Alison Magruder, Sr. – 19 G, 8 A;

The skinny on the Lions: Finished second in the GAC North, 10-4 since beginning the year 5-5.

  • Last week: Lost 3-1 against St. Joseph’s on Monday, defeated ? 2-0 on Tuesday, defeated McCluer North 7-0 on Thursday.

No. 5 seed – Francis Howell Central Spartans (10-11-3)

The skinny on the Spartans: Finished fifth in the GAC South, measure of inconsistency this season, won two in a row three times, but also lost two in a row three times.

  • Record in last eight games: 4-4.
  • Last week: Defeated Wentzville Timberland 2-1 on Tuesday, lost 3-0 at Fort Zumwalt West on Thursday.

The skinny on the Vikings: Finished seventh in the Suburban South Conference, hasn’t won at all in May, six straight losses.

  • Last week: Lost 4-0 against Rockwood Summit on Wednesday, lost 1-0 against Windsor on Friday.

  • Last week: Lost 3-0 at Incarnate Word Academy on Tuesday, defeated Francis Howell Central 3-0 on Thursday, defeated Wentzville Holt 3-0 on Friday.

  • Last week: Defeated Hannibal 11-1 on Monday, lost 3-1 against Francis Howell, defeated Jefferson City 5-1 on Wednesday.

No. 3 seed – Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs (12-12)

The skinny on the Bulldogs: Finished third in the GAC North, spunky team won 12 games in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year.

  • Record in last eight games: 4-4.
  • Last week: Lost 5-3 at Incarnate Word Academy on Monday, defeated Fort Zumwalt North 3-2 on Tuesday, defeated Francis Howell North 2-1 on Thursday.
  • Top scorers: Bridget Stewart, Fr. – 13 G, 9 A; Taylor Wade, Soph. – 7 G, 10 A.

The skinny on the Eagles: Began season 9-0, 4-7 record since, defeated every other team in district at least once already this season.

  • Last week: Defeated Brentwood 5-0 on Tuesday, lost 2-1 at Fort Zumwalt North on Wednesday.
