Sports Report: Basketball Gears Up For More Tournaments

While the rest of the student body is enjoying the winter break, many basketball teams across St. Charles County are ready to hit the gym.

Post-Christmas tournaments are popping up all across the St. Louis region. Let's take a look at some of the ones involving local teams.

Boys Basketball: Seckman Tournament

• When: Dec. 27 to Dec. 29
• Teams Involved: Seckman, Summit, , Windsor, Northwest Cedar Hill, ,  Fox and Lutheran South 
• Matchups: Seckman vs. Summit at noon on Tuesday, Howell North vs. Windsor at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Northwest Cedar Hill vs. Zumwalt East at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Fox vs. Lutheran South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Full Bracket here.

Girls Basketball: Duchesne Tournament

• When: Dec. 27 to Dec. 29
• Teams Involved: Hazelwood West, Hazelwood East, , McCluer, Jennings, , Lutheran South and 
• Matchups: The first round of the tournament was played before Christmas and Jennings, St. Charles, Lutheran South and Duchesne were the early winners. Those four teams will play in the winner's bracket. Jennings will face St. Charles at 7:30 p.m. and Lutheran South will take on Duchesne at 6 p.m. on Tuesday to advance to the finals. In the consolation bracket, Hazelwood West will face Hazelwood East at 4:30 p.m. and Zumwalt East will play McCluer at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Find the full bracket here.

Boys Basketball: St. Dominic Imo's Tournament

• When: Dec. 27 to Dec. 30
• Teams Involved: , Sikeston, , , , Parkway North, , and 
• Matchups: The boys portion of the St. Dominic tourney will kick off at 3 p.m. Tuesday pitting Timberland against Parkway North. Lutheran St. Charles and Sikeston will play the second game at 4:30 p.m. Game No. 3 will feature Holt and Zumwalt West. St. Dominic and Zumwalt South will close out Tuesday's first round at 7:30 p.m. A full bracket can be found here. 

Girls Basketball: St. Dominic Imo's Tournament

• When: Dec. 27 to Dec. 30
• Teams Involved: Elsberry, , , , , , Silex and   
• Matchups: Zumwalt North will open the tournament at 9 a..m on Tuesday against St. Charles West. In game two, Elsberry will face Lutheran St. Charles at 10:30 a.m. Holt will take on Timberland at noon and Silex will play St. Dominic at 1:30 p.m. to close out Tuesday.
