Two St. Peters Prep Baseball Stars Make All-Star Team

Fort Zumwalt South pitcher Gerrion Grim and Francis Howell Central catcher Jake Henson were named to the Missouri squad for the 2012 PNC Bank Baseball Showcase.

The third annual PNC Bank Baseball Showcase will have a pair of athletes taking on Team Illinois.

Two St. Peters prep stars, pitcher and Francis Howell Central catcher  were named to the Missouri squad for the 2012 PNC Bank Baseball Showcase. The all-star game pits top high school players from Missouri against players from across the river in Illinois. 

The contest will take place at 1:15 p.m. on June 18, at Busch Stadium. Admission to the game is free.

Grim, who has committed to Mizzou, was sensational this season for the Bulldogs. Grim (3-5) compiled a 2.90 ERA and led the GAC North conference in strikeouts (94—the second-place finisher had just 50) and innings pitched (72.3). He also had five complete games and two saves. With the bat, Grim led the GAC North in homers (4), triples (5) and RBIs (33). He was also tops in slugging percentage (.680), on-base percentage (.529) and walks (22). His .423 averages was good enough for third in the GAC North. 

Henson also excelled on the diamond for the Spartans. The senior hit a team-best .398 and got on base at a .481 clip while having plenty of pop. He led the GAC South with six homers and 12 doubles to compiled a league-leading .763 slugging percentage. He added two triples, 25 RBIs, and 22 runs scored for the Spartans.

Former St. Louis Cardinals Chris Duncan and John Mabry will be involved as managers of the teams.
