Vote Now: Choose the Top Baseball Player of the Week

Show your school spirit by voting for your school's Patch Athlete of the Week.

Rain may have washed away a few baseball games last week, but some action still managed to take place—and what action it was.

All across St. Charles County great players played great games on the baseball field. Some did it better than others.

Here are the nominees for the baseball player of the week for the week of April 9:

Drew Quinones—: Fort Zumwalt South's Drew Quinones was a tough guy to retire in the Bulldogs' two games last week. Quinones picked up seven hits in nine at-bats for South—a .778 batting average. In a loss to Holt, Quinones went 2-4 with a run scored. The next day, on Tuesday, against St. Charles West, Quinones helped power the Bulldogs past the Warriors. In a 14-13 South win, Quinones was 5-for-5 with three runs scored, two RBIs and a double.

Tyler Ehlmann—: The Howell North Knights compiled a 3-1 record last week and the bat of Tyler Ehlmann helped out in a big way. Ehlmann started the week going 2-for-3 with an RBI on April 10 in North's 4-3 loss to Timberland. On Wednesday, Howell North blasted Pattonville 17-4 and Ehlmann went 1-for-3 with two walks, two runs and two RBIs. On Thursday, North beat Vianney 11-5 with Ehlmann having a huge game. He went 3-for-4 with a homer, four RBIs and a run. To close out the week, Ehlmann went 0-for-2 with a run and an RBI in North's 8-4 win against Zumwalt West.

Justin Blechle—: The St. Dominic baseball team had a 2-0 week with both wins coming in blowout fashion. Against DuBourg on April 9, Justin Blechle nearly hit for the cycle in the Crusaders' 7-2 win. Blechle went 4-for-5 with three runs scored, two doubles, a triple and two steals. On April 10, Blechle against showed his extra-base power. He went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, a run scored, a double, a triple and a stolen base.

Kyle Fletcher—:
Kyle Fletcher's hot bat helped Timberland pull off a 3-0 week. On April 10, Fletcher was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base in the Wolves 4-3 win over Howell North. In the Wolves 5-0 win against Troy on April 11, Fletcher went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. To close out the week, Fletcher was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored in Timberland's 6-3 win against Webster Groves.
