Help us name the fan's choice for the top football player from the first week of the high school season.

It's another high school sports season, which means the return of our weekly St. Charles County Athlete of the Week poll.

This week we turn our attention to the football filed. Tell us in the poll below: Who was the St. Charles County player of the week for the first week of the 2012 football season?

Brett Collins—: For the first time since Sept. 3, 2010, the Lutheran Cougars picked up a win. Snapping an 18-game losing skid that spanned all of last season, the Cougars topped Principia 27-21 on the opening night of the 2012 season. A key piece in the win? Quarterback Brett Collins.

The Cougars scored four touchdowns in the game and Collins had a hand in all four. As the quarterback, Collins was 12-for-21 for 209 yards and three touchdowns against no interceptions. As a running threat, Collins carried the ball 17 times for 73 yards and a score.

Jordan Moody—: In the Knights season-opening loss to Vianney, running back Jordan Mooody was a bright spot. Moody was responsible for eight of the 20 Howell North points—six via a rushing touchdown and the other two off a two-point conversion. Moody was the focal point of the North offense, carrying the ball 19 times. He rushed for 140 yards—7.4 per carry—and had one touchdown.

Jordan Norwine—:
O'Fallon Christian's Jordan Norwine did a lot Friday night. The Eagles' quarterback was nearly perfect throwing the ball. He completed 8-of-9 passes for 167 yards and two scores. Running the ball, Norwine carried the rock six times for 63 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles win.
