Community Update

Awful, awful customer service: My husband and I arrived early on Saturday and asked that three dress pants have their hemline raised by Sunday noon at the latest. I found out at the last minute that I had a weeklong conference to attend that required travel later on Sunday afternoon and needed the pants to meet the professional dress requirements. We were told that there would be someone in the store on Sunday even though their website lists they are closed on that day, and all we had to do was knock on their front door. We were assured and reassured the pants might even be done by Saturday night and would receive a phone call if this was the case. WE even PAID EXTRA for the rushed order.
On Sunday, we called at 11am to give them a heads up that we were coming to pick up the pants as arranged and paid for, but no one answered. We left a polite message with our information. We showed up at noon, called, left more messages, and knocked on both the front and back doors SEVERAL times, WAITED FOR A FULL 30 MINUTES. No one answered. I had to run to the mall to buy yet other pairs of pants, which any woman knows is a great hassle, especially having to do so when rushed.
When my husband called on Monday and inquired about the order, he was spoken to in an EXTREMELY RUDE matter and told that there was someone there. The woman (I refrain from using "lady") implied that he was lying about showing up and leaving messages. When he showed up to pick up the pants, he was "greeted" with remarks regarding our "UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS" for the pants to be done that quickly, and how "there was someone there the whole time." He was DENIED THE REFUND he asked for; he didn't even ask for a full refund, just one for the extra rushed fee. NO ONE OFFERED ANY EXPLANATIONS or apologized for LYING and NOT DELIVERING the goods and services AS PROMISED.
My husband had to travel by car to bring me the pants, one of which was dirty btw, so he had to wash it, etc. which further delayed his travel time. My apologies about the long story, but I felt it important to show just how this business LIED to us regarding the terms of service, DID NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE, implied we were the ones lying, were RUDE when asked about why they DIDN'T FULFILL THEIR TERMS OF SERVICE, and did not have the DECENCY TO OFFER A partial or full REFUND. We understand that this was a rushed order. We would have even forgiven the great inconveniences --time wise and financial-- that this situation brought us had we at the very least been offered an honest apology and been shown an effort to make things right. But this did not happen and this was ALL HANDLED POORLY AND UNPROFESSIONALLY. What a disappointment, especially when we went out of our way to support a locally owned business.
