Give Back: Donate, Participate, Contribute

Sometimes the best way to give is through gifts of money and organization. Here are some upcoming events to which you could contribute.

Donate a Dress to the Cinderella Project

Donate $25, $50 or $100 to help a deserving girl get jewelry, shoes, hair, make up or nails for prom. Drop off a dress at mall customer service center at in St. Peters, or at West Oak Cleaners, Belleza Salon, Charming Charlie or in St. Charles. Dresses will be collected through Feb. 28.

March 1, 11:15 a.m. registration, 12 p.m. luncheon, 1 p.m. reception. Ritz-Carlton St. Louis. Cost: $75. The event will honor female leaders wihtin the community and through Connections to Success provide hope and resources to women in the transformation to self-sufficiency and empowerment. St. Charles City-County Library Foundation Trivia Challenge

March 31 at in St. Charles, 6:15 p.m. doors open, 7 p.m. trivia begins. Cost: $160 per team of eight. Cost includes mulligans, beer and soda. Reserve your table online at www.stchlibraryfoundation.org. 

Shower of Love for Seven Local Agencies

Host a baby item collection drive for baby-care items that will benefit moms and babies for seven agencies including Birthright, Crisis Nursery, Mary Queen of Angels, Nurses for Newborns, Our Lady's Inn, ThriVe and . The group is also looking for people to volunteer at a collection site in May. For more information email mamcelfresh@sbcglobal.net. 

St. Charles Optimist Club 24th Annual Golf Tournament to Benefit Youth

June 18, 11:30 a.m. registration, 12 p.m. lunch, 1 p.m. shotgun start. Cost: $360 per four-person team, $95 for an individual. Price includes green fees, barbecue lunch and dinner plus refreshments. Prizes include longest drive, putting and closest to hole. Make a reservation by June 4 by emailing fred@fredsmuffler.com. 

Lou Brock Classic to Benefit

Aug. 13, 11 a.m. registration and lunch, 1 p.m. shotgun start, 6 p.m. social hour, 6:30 p.m. awards dinner. Tournament shirts will be given to each player. Cost: $1,000 per four-person team or $300 per guest. To register for the event, email eking@lindenwood.edu. 

St. Louis MDA Muscle Walk to benefit MDA St. Louis

March 24, 7:30 a.m. registration, walk starts. Families are invited to participate in the 8th annual “St. Louis MDA Muscle Walk,” a fun one-mile walk throughout St. Louis Mills to help MDA St. Louis continue its critical services to more than 2,000 families affected by neuromuscular diseases in and around the St. Louis area. Everyone is welcome to participate free of charge, though every dollar donated will directly benefit MDA St. Louis.
