MoDOT Says I-64 and Highway 141 Are Now Back Open To Traffic
Parts of Interstate 64 and Highway 141 were shut down for as much as 3.5 hours Thursday night to give crews time to attack snow accumulations in the area.
7:01 p.m. Update MoDOT confirms that the closures of Intestate 64 and Highway 141 have ended. 5:17 p.m. Update: According to the St. Louis County Office of Emergency Management, I-64 is now open in West. St. Louis County in both directions. A MoDOT engineer confirms the following road closures to Patch as crews try to take advantage of a lull in weather conditions MoDOT's St. Louis Maintenance Engineer Becky Allmeroth told Patch that the I-64 closure was already an hour in progress at approximately 4:45 p.m. Allmeroth said the weather event has played out "almost exactly" as was expected, although there has been more accumulations of snow.
