A teenager was charged as an adult 10 months after flipping his car in St. Charles County, killing one passenger and seriously injuring another. Michael Gianino, 17, was 16 years old when his Oct. 17 crash on Greens Bottom Road in St. Charles County killed Clayton Newell, a sophomore at Francis Howell North High School. Gianino’s younger sister, Samantha Gianino, also was seriously injured. Gianino was charged Tuesday with second-degree involuntary manslaughter and second-degree assault. A St. Charles County man was charged Friday with causing a 2010 accident on the Blanchette Bridge while driving drunk. Anthony Hutchins, 28, of the 1300 block of Summergate Parkway in St. Charles County just south of St. Peters, was charged with second-degree assault, driving while intoxicated. St. Louis County Police said Hutchins was speeding at 4:50 a.m. Sept. 25, 2010 when he hit the back of the first victim’s car. The collision caused that car to spin out of control and hit two bridge walls. A third car then struck the second car. Drivers of both victims’ cars were injured. A St. Louis County man drove off the road April 19 at Oak Berry Court and damaged a sewer before driving off, according to a St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department report. When Sheriff’s deputies pulled over Jayson Crisel, 39, of Overland, they said he also had 48 tablets cold tablets containing pseudoephedrine in his car, an ingredient used to make methamphetamine. While at the St. Charles County Department of Corrections, Crisel was coming out of the bathroom when he struck a handcuffed inmate in the eye. When asked why he struck the inmate, Crisel said he thought he knew him. St. Charles County residents were involved in a four-vehicle accident Wednesday on Route K south of Crusher Road. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 3:30 p.m. Four vehicles were traveling northbound on Route K. Three of the vehicles stopped for a red light. A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Douglas L. Frederick, 47, Wentzville, failed to stop and struck the rear of a 2001 Chevy Suburban, driven by Lisa R. Golet-Wright, 46, St. Charles. The front of Golet-Wright's vehicle was pushed into the rear of a 2003 Ford Explorer, which was driven by Anthony K. Duffold, 53, St. Peters.
