Art Centre manager Cindy Dubois wants to use her skills, background and love for the arts as a marketer for artists, and a voice for the arts.

Manager of the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre Cindy Dubois wears many hats in her position, including developing programming, scheduling of the facility and rentals and she oversees all art displays and exhibitions, to name just a few of her duties. Also, as part of her job, Dubois is a grant writer, and she said the Art Centre received a $20,000 grant from the Missouri Arts Council this year. Dubois said the city wanted the Arts Centre operating at a zero deficit and wants them to be a self-sustaining facility. Snow Storm Passes, Normalcy Returning

After sleet and snow hit St. Peters, the city began to thaw out on a chilly Wednesday.

The snowstorm was hardly historic, but St. Peters did get hit by a wintry mix Tuesday. Between four and six inches of sleet/snow fell on St. Peters throughout the day on Tuesday and into early Wednesday morning. The accumulation was enough to shut down Interstate 70 and close schools for Wednesday.  Early Wednesday morning the Missouri Department of Transportation reopened I-70, but cautioned drivers to avoid the road if they could. Thanks to the bright sun and the work of road crews, most of the snow was removed from I-70 in St. Peters. The road conditions were slushy, but driveable. That description was apt for most of St. Peters. Road crews were out at 7 a.m. this morning clearing off the street. Entrences to businesses were still a …

Cultural Arts Centre a Hive of Activity as First Show Nears

Newly-opened Cultural Arts Centre takes art for first City Hall showcase.

The walls are bare and the display cases are empty at the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre, but that won't be the case much longer. After leaving behind its offices on St. Peters Howell Road, the Arts Centre officially opened up shop inside City Hall on Monday. Cultural Arts Centre art leader Cindy DuBois said she is excited to be in the new location in the west wing of City Hall, but there is one small problem—a lack of art on the walls. Tuesday that began to change. Artists brought over paintings and other artwork to the Centre. The art will be hung and displayed this week and be showcased this Friday. "Now there's going to be art on the walls," DuBois said. "After today, we'll get the show hung on Wednesday and Thursday and by Friday, we…
