A fire broke out in the top floor of building six at the St. Peters apartment complex on Sunday evening.
A fire in the upstairs unit at the Vanderbilt Apartments on Sunday evening brought out crews from Central County Fire and Rescue and Cottleville. Just before 5:30 p.m. crews arrived on the scene to respond to the fire. Fire fighters broke out a front window of the apartment to ventilate the smoke. While a large crowd of onlookers watched, crews quickly put out the fire. It is believed the fire started in the question of the top-floor unit. CCFR blocked traffic on Spencer Road while putting out the fire.

A pickup truck struck a Central County Fire and Rescue firetruck early Thursday morning on Interstate 70 in St. Peters. The driver of the pickup truck was killed in the collision and one firefighter was injured in the accident. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that at 12:18 a.m. O'Fallon resident Chad Zaiz swerved to avoid a police vehicle and ran into the back of the CCFR truck. The incident occurred on Interstate 70 near the Spencer Road overpass in St. Peters.
