James - many people will say that however the outcome of ignoring the fluid change will likely be much worse than having the fluid changed. I recommend having it changed vs. flushed unless it is a LOW pressure flush which is done by using the input and output lines that lead to the transmission cooler. If a high pressure change is done (much like what the machines do) it could cause some issues. …   more ›

St. Charles County Patches are looking for auto experts to dole out advice to readers.

This summer we debuted our "Ask the Patch Pro" series. With it, we gathered a team of experts to take your questions in the comments. So far, we've gotten advice on summer reading and taking care of pets.  Now we're turning our attention cars—just like our friends in Iowa did. Everyone that drives on a regular basis has questions about their vehicle of choice—how do I get better gas mileage? What does this noise mean? Is this smell bad? We want to help.
