Christine Marie Dalton, 27, of the first block of Ashbrook Drive in St. Charles County near St. Peters, was charged Thursday with DWI as an aggravated offender, two counts of leaving an accident scene, three counts each of failure to comply with an interlock device order and driving with her license revoked. Dalton has three previous DWI convictions. St. Peters Police said Dalton drove off the eastbound Interstate 70 exit ramp at Mid Rivers Mall Drive and went over a reflector sign Jan. 17. St. Peters Police said Shannon Stone was driving under the influence of benzodiazepines, synthetic marijuana and opiates.
A woman driving under the influence of drugs passed out and her car overturned and struck a tree with both her children inside, according to St. Peters Police. Shannon Stone, 32, of the 300 block of Windsor Place in St. Peters, was charged March 5 with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. St. Peters Police said she had been driving erratically when she passed out on Willot Road near Carrington July 10. Police said blood tests showed she had benzodiazepines, opiates and cannabinoids--or synthetic marijuana--in her system. A 32-year-old man faces his fifth charge of driving while intoxicated after he could not complete a sobriety test because he could not stand up, according to a St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department report. Sean M. Herod, 32, of the 10100 block of Schultz in Foristell, was charged with DWI as a chronic offender, a class B felony. Nine days after Herod successfully completed probation for two DWI convictions in 2006, St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy pulled Herod over for driving erratically on Highway 94 near Westwood Drive just east of Weldon Spring. A St. Charles County woman faces a felony driving while intoxicated charge after being pulled over on Interstate 64 at Boone's Crossing in Chesterfield. Amanda N. Andrew, 31, of the 5400 block of Old Gutermuth Road in St. Charles County, was charged Tuesday with driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender. Andrew has two previous DWI convictions. Chesterfield Police said Andrew was pulled over for driving 76 mph in a 60 mph zone at 3:56 a.m. Aug. 3 on I-64. When talking with Andrew, the officer reported he noticed a strong odor of alcohol and that she had watery and bloodshot eyes. A Lindenwood University diving coach was stopped for driving the wrong way on Interstate 70 and brought into custody before he spit at and attempted to assault officers, St. Peters Police said. Patch reported earlier that Kyle Friesenhahn, 25, of the 1000 block of Pine Street in St. Charles, was charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer. A St. Louis County woman had her 6-year-old daughter in her car when she was arrested for drunk driving and assaulted a police officer, according to police.
Rachel Wilcox, 27, of unincorporated West St. Louis County was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated. According to Officer Melissa Doss with the St. Peters Police Department, the DWI charge and others stem from a Jan. 6 incident where Wilcox was arrested, suspected of DWI. Doss said the woman's 6-year-old daughter was in the car at the time. Doss also tells Patch, that during the arrest Wilcox attempted to spit on one police officer, then she allegedly slapped another officer in the face in the booking area. In an effort to take impaired drivers off the road during the holiday season, St. Peters Police have planned a sobriety checkpoint. At an undisclosed location on the weekend of Dec. 14, St. Peters Police will be cracking down on drunken driving. The checkpoint is part of an effort to make the roads safer—218 people were killed and 867 seriously injured in crashes involving an impaired driver in 2011. St. Peters Police said impaired driving contributes to nearly 30 percent of all Missouri traffic fatalities. Drunken driving can result in jail time, the loss of a driver's license, or being sentenced to use ignition interlocks. Insurance rates also can rise, along with legal fees. The St. Charles Police Department will host a multijurisdictional DWI checkpoint this weekend. Officers from the St. Charles Police department will be joined by officers from the St. Peters Police Department and deputies from the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department and other agencies. While the exact location of the operation is notbeing disclosed, it will be within the City of St. Charles. The operation is funded by a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation, Division of Highway and Traffic Safety. A St. Charles man was charged Wednesday with involuntary manslaughter for an April 17 crash in Maryland Heights that killed two passengers in his car. John Recklein, 22, of the first block of Robert Drive in St. Charles, was charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter--driving while intoxicated. The crash killed Natasha Galenski, a 17-year-old St. Peters woman, and 23-year-old Jared T. Nevenner, of Caseyville. Galenski died four days after the accident. Recklein’s blood-alcohol content was 0.179 percent, more than double the legal limit, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
