Three St. Charles County men each were indicted by a grand jury on Friday on seven first-degree burglary charges and multiple stealing charges. The defendants are: Larbi and Ballinger were indicted by the St. Charles County grand jury on seven first-degree burglary charges; Roberts was indicted on five first-degree burglary charges. Larbi faces 27 stealing charges and Ballinger has 21 stealing charges. Roberts was indicted on 15 stealing, two receiving stolen property and one second-degree property damage charges in addition to two charges of selling marijuana to an undercover officer. A St. Charles County man faces burglary charges after trying to break into a house with a 15-year-old girl at home. Tyler Sooter, 23, of the 600 block of Manor Circle Drive in St. Charles County, was charged Monday with second-degree burglary and attempted first-degree burglary in homes just south of St. Peters. According to a St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department report, Sooter entered a home in the 700 block of Napa Lane on Monday and stole $150 in cash. He then tried to force open a door at another house in the same block, but teenage girl was home and heard the noise. The teenager then saw Sooter trying to break into the home, said Lt. Drug Task Force detectives said they smelled the chemical odor of meth as they drove by the home.
Three people were charged Thursday, July 12, 2012, with making and possessing methamphetamine in O’Fallon after authorities received a tip about a meth lab. Charged with making and possessing methamphetamine were: Acting on a tip, St. Charles County Drug Task Force members went to a mobile home July 10 on Thoroughbred Drive in O’Fallon and saw two men leave the house and get in a pickup truck. As detectives drove past the house, they smelled a strong chemical odor from cooking meth, according to a task force report. Detectives arranged to have the truck stopped by St. Charles County deputies while detectives checked out the house.
