A man is accused of choking another man into unconsciousness Feb. 19 in the Harvester area, choked another man and then stole his ex-girlfriend’s car. Brooks Hoy, 21, whose address was listed in Columbia, was charged Feb. 19 with tampering with a car, two counts of third-degree assault, third-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest. A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy said Hoy was arguing with another man and choked him long enough that he went unconscious Feb. 19 in the 600 block of Emerald Meadows Court. A third man hit Hoy in the head with a baseball bat to make him let go, according to the report. The deputy said Hoy also choked another man, who was trying to make Hoy let go of the first man. A St. Peters man punched his wife and grabbed her nose, causing it to bleed on Feb. 10, police said. Stephan Surplus, 43, of the 1500 block of Athens Drive in St. Peters, was charged Feb. 10 with third-degree domestic assault. St. Peters Police said Surplus punched his wife in the arm twice, shoved her over and then grabbed her nose, causing a nosebleed. A St. Charles County man assaulted his roommate after being asked to move out, according to a St. Charles County Sheriff’s report. Richard Menke, 51, of the 1400 block of Park Ashwood Court in the Harvester area, was charged Feb. 6 with third-degree domestic assault. A St. Charles County Sheriff's deputy reported that Menke became angry when his roommate asked him to move out. The deputy said Menke choked his roommate with his forearm and punched him several times in the face. Menke was being held in St. Charles County jail Monday. A St. Peters man slammed his father-in-law’s head against a door frame, then broke furniture, dishes, a chandelier and other items with a bat because the man smoked in the house. Floyd Grobb, 52, of the first block of Crescent Hills in St. Peters, was charged Dec. 31 with third-degree domestic assault and second-degree property damage. St. Peters Police said Grobb, his wife and children moved in with her parents three years ago. One stipulation was that the father-in-law would not smoke in the house. A St. Charles County man kicked his girlfriend Sunday, according to a St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department report. Jason E. Benskin, 36, of the 2800 block of Mulberry Lane in St. Charles County east of St. Peters, was charged with third-degree domestic assault. A deputy said Benskin and his girlfriend were arguing when he became aggressive and kicked her in the abdomen as he was laying on a bed, pushing her backward into a dresser and onto the floor. The deputy said several people witnessed the assault and said Benskin was the aggressor. Benskin told the deputy he used his foot to push her away from him. A St. Peters man repeatedly struck his girlfriend in the face and head Nov. 14 in the first block of Rainbow Drive, police said. Michael J. Ingrassia, 37, of the first block of Rainbow Drive in St. Peters, was charged Nov. 15 with second-degree domestic assault. St. Peters Police said Ingrassia spit on his girlfriend numerous times, threw her on the bed, continued striking her and threatened to kill her. A St. Peters man hit a woman twice in the face with a shoe Nov. 5 and threatened to beat the woman “up and down the street until she was black and blue,” police said. St. Peters Police said Brandon Beseda, 24, of the 2200 block of Bay Tree Drive in St. Peters, also threatened to kill the woman and took a handgun from her bedroom. A man faces criminal charges after St. Peters Police said he assaulted his girlfriend Friday. Garrett A. Ash, 27, of the first block of Timberbrook Drive in St. Peters, was charged Monday with third-degree domestic assault. St. Peters Police said Ash pinned his girlfriend to the couch during an argument and began choking her. He later pinned her against the kitchen wall and wrestled with her in an upstairs bedroom to prevent her from getting her cell phone, police said. Police said a man drove his pickup truck into his front door while trying to run over his wife Oct. 1 in St. Peters. Timothy P. McMorris, 34, was charged Tuesday with third-degree domestic assault and second-degree child endangerment. St. Peters Police said McMorris pushed his wife out of his pickup truck, put the truck in reverse and tried to hit her with the truck. The woman ran into their house in the first block of Pilot Hill Court and grabbed the couple’s 9-year-old daughter just inside the doorway, police said. A Florissant man faces criminal charges in St. Peters after police said he assaulted his girlfriend on the shoulder of Interstate 370 Sept. 19. Timothy A. Nettles, 20, of the 800 block of Madison Lane in Florissant, was charged Sept. 19 with second-degree domestic assault. St. Peters Police said the couple was stopped along Interstate 370 at Salt River Road when Nettles pinned the woman down and struck her repeatedly in the face and arm and pulled her by her hair.
