Through ticket purchases, sponsorships, auction items and charitable pledges, this year’s Celebration of Youth raised a record $425,000.
The 8th Annual Progress South Elementary Family Fun will take place on April 20.
Event is Saturday, June 8 at 7 a.m.
The event is sponsored by The Community and Children's Resource Board.
The seventh annual event focuses on prevention of child abuse and neglect. Volunteers are needed Thursday, April 25.
Head to the LHS basketball game Jan. 29 to participate in a fundraiser for charity.
Lutheran High School students in St. Charles will host an "Empty Bowl" charity drive from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 29, during a home basketball game. Community members will purchase a $10 light meal that will be served in ceramic bowls handcrafted by art students. Community members can take home the bowls. Proceeds will benefit Operation Food Search in O'Fallon.

A local family is working together to help children in St. Charles County who suffer with cancer. Austin's Angels, a local non-profit, is hosting a trivia benefit this weekend. The non-profit began as family and friends came together earlier this year to support a 6-year-old Cottleville boy who suffers from a brain tumor. Austin Burns was diagnosed with Anaplastic Ependymoma, a grade three tumor, just after his first birthday. He is now under hospice care and attends SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center for occupational and speech therapy. McTeacher’s Night takes place at local restaurants beginning Oct. 2, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Local teachers are trading their grade books in for fries and Big Macs throughout the month of October. Local McDonald’s restaurants are teaming up with teachers to help raise money for Fort Zumwalt and Francis Howell schools on McTeacher's Night. McTeacher’s Night is a fundraiser that has provided more than $600,000 to St. Louis and Metro East area schools over the past nine years. On McTeacher’s Night, schools partner with and help run their local McDonald’s. Teachers and faculty members work as McDonald’s crew members and a percentage of sales from McTeacher’s Night is given to the school.
