Violet 'Honored' After Ward 3 Appointment Nomination

St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano has called a special meeting at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, to appoint Terri Violet to the Board of Aldermen. Another Ward 3 resident opposes the selection.

Terri Violet was determined to serve on the St. Peters Board of Aldermen. Violet threw her hat in the ring as a candidate to serve Ward 3 in the 2011 Municipal Election . She was challenging incumbent Gus Elliott and lost by a narrow margin—783 to 709. Despite the loss, Violet wouldn't go away. Her name appeared on the ballot again this spring, this time taking on Tommy Roberts and Burton Biermann. Violet again fell short, but that didn't keep her away from St. Peters. "That passion to be able to serve Ward 3 in St. Peters has never gone," Violet said. "I have the passion and I'm willing and able."  She continued to volunteer in the community and was a frequent guest at Aldermen meetings and other city event. Her presence didn't go …

The alderman with felony conviction is Roberts, the one who most recently defeated Violet. To see full details, go to Missouri case net and search for case #11R019601589-01 , it's a matter of public record. Ironically, the only place he's allowed to run for elected office in missouri is in the city of St. Peters.   more ›

Violet Picked By Mayor to Take Ward 3 Alderman Seat After Elliott Resignation

St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano has called a special meeting at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, to appoint Terri Violet to the Board of Aldermen.

St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano is making sure Ward 3 residents won't be without a second alderman too much longer. Following the resignation of Gus Elliott  announced at the Sept. 13 meeting, Pagano has selected Terri Violet, a two-time candidate for the seat, to take Elliott's spot until the April 2013 election. The appointment is pending approval by the other members of the board. A special meeting has been called  for 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, with the sole agenda item being the selection of Elliott's replacement. In the meeting notice, posted on the city of St. Peters' website, a note from Mayor Pagano indicates he has selected and appointed Violet to fill the vacant seat.  By calling the special meeting and appointment the …

With Elliott out of the way and the "yes woman" in his place, it appears that the board and Pagono will have smooth sailing all the way! Don't come crying to us when they decide to bulldoze your home for widening Spencer Road to 6 lanes all the way to McClay road and beyond or put a big ass box store in your back yard or even where your home is now! It has happened in the past and now it is even …   more ›

St. Peters Alderman Gus Elliott Resigns Months After Investigation

Gus Elliott's resignation comes roughly four months after St. Peters Patch first reported that city hired a special prosecutor to investigate a harassment claim made against Elliott by the city’s Director of Community Relations, Lisa Bedian.

Gus Elliott has resigned as alderman of the city of St. Peters. Elliott made the announcement via St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano at Thursday's Board of Aldermen meeting.  The resignation comes roughly four months after St. Peters Patch first reported that Pagano had ordered a special prosecutor to investigate a harassment claim made against Elliott by the city’s Director of Community Relations, Lisa Bedian.  That claim alleged Elliott harassed Bedian in February by using Bedian’s name, without her consent, on a Missouri Ethics Commission report filed by Missouri Lieutenant Governor candidate Cynthia Davis. The ethics report, targeted at St. Peters Ward 3 Alderman Tommy Roberts, was posted on Davis' website as a PDF and the properties of the …

Remember that the 3rd ward residents are watching very closely to both candidates in this election given the past scandals it has suffered! Michelle Stiens & Gus Elliot are still fresh in our memories! Violet, as you know, has the advantage with the questionable legality of her appointment to the board! Yes it is a digital age we live in but do not give the opposition anything to use against you…   more ›

Special Prosecutor: No Charges Warranted in Harassment Case Involving Elliott

St. Peters mayor had ordered the investigation into claims that Ward 3 Alderman Gus Elliott had harassed a city staffer.

A special prosecutor has advised the city of St. Peters to not pursue any charges or impeach Ward 3 Alderman Gus Elliott. After months of investigation, attorney Richard Brunk, a special prosecutor who was hired by the city this spring to investigate a harassment claim levied against Elliott, reached his decision.  From the release: "My investigation has resulted in a recommendation that no criminal or civil charges, including any contemplated harassment charges or impeachment proceedings, be pursued by the City against Mr. Elliott and that the City, along with all of the other parties, amicably resolve their differences without any party pursuing any further legal action." St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano ordered Brunk to investigate a …

I agree, although there are many who are strong advocates for Terri Violet that are painting a different picture of Gus and also Tommy Roberts. I do not know what their specific reasons are because they only talk in broad terms. They make vague accusations that they are corrupt in some way but fail to come up with facts! Once again I will state that the politics in this city is a dirty business …   more ›

Proposition P, Board Appointments on the Agenda at Thursday's Board Meeting

The St. Peters Board of Aldermen will have a work session at 5 p.m. and a regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, at the St. Peters Justice Center.
