St. Peters Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on Highway 370

Jeffrey Switzer sustained moderate injuries in the Wednesday afternoon crash.

A 31-year-old St. Peters man sustained moderate injuries after being in a two-car crash on Wednesday.  Jeffrey L. Switzer was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital by St. Charles County Ambulance after being involved in a crash on Highway 370 near Elm Street in St. Charles County.  According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, 34-year-old O'Fallon resident Ramadan W. Ramadan was driving westbound on Highway 370 around 3:40 p.m. on Aug. 1. Ramadan attempted to change lanes in his 2012 Infinity QX56. In the process, Ramadan's vehicle struck Switzer's 2006 Yamaha Virago. The collision caused Switzer to lose control of motorcycle and crash. Ramadan was uninjured in the crash and his vehicle was undamaged.  Switzer's motorcycle …

Salt River Road Project Phase One Complete, Roads Now Open

The new four-lane Salt River Road in St. Peters is open between Highway 370 and Mid Rivers Mall Drive, while Spencer Road will reopen north of Premier Parkway.

Beneath the new bridge over Spencer Road, a crowd gathered on Thursday afternoon. The crowd wasn't trying to beat the heat, although the shade of the bridge and a nice breeze did make is significantly cooler under than bridge than outside in the 90-plus degree heat, but rather celebrating the opening of the first phase of the Salt River Road Project. Thursday afternoon St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano, St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann and others were on hand for the opening of Spencer Road/Salt River Road. A 2.5-mile section of the Salt River Road Extension is now open at the newly constructed Salt River Road and Spencer Road interchange west of Highway 370. First Phase of Salt River Road Project to Open for Traffic on June 30

Road Project in St. Peters rebuilt Salt River Road into a four-lane road. Spencer Road and Highway 370 work also completed as part of project.

At the May 12 Board of Aldermen meeting Manager of Public Works Services Russ Batzel said the Salt River Road Project, which included the reworking of Spencer Road and Highway 370, would be completed by late June. Batzel hit the nail on the head with his prediction. Tuesday afternoon the city of St. Peters said a 2.5-mile section of the Salt River Road Extension will open at the newly constructed Salt River Road and Spencer Road interchange west of Highway 370 on Thursday, June 30, 2011. A ceremony for the opening will take place on the same day at 4 p.m. The Salt River Road Project was part of a $14.6 million project road project. Managed by the City of St. Peters, the Project included building the new four-lane Salt River Road. The road …
