‘Skate Across America’ Ice Show Coming to Rec-Plex

The event will have shows on at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 13, at 7 p.m, 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 15.

Local ice skaters will "Skate Across America" at the St. Peters Rec-Plex's 17th annual spring ice show.  Rec-Plex-trained figure skaters ranging from 3-years-old to advanced age will skate and explore cities, states and landmarks throughout the county.  The event will have shows on at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 13, at 7 p.m, 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 15. The show will have several dozen skaters skating to re-create the record-breaking “Traveling through St. Louis” routine performed during the Ice Skating Institute (ISI) Winter Classic recreational skating competition at the Rec-Plex earlier this year.  Tickets go on sale at the Rec-Plex front desk on Monday, May 2, 2011.  Adults cost $7 for Rec-Plex annual pass-…

Rec-Plex Skaters Win ISI Championships

The St. Peters Figure Skating Association’s Synchro St. Louis Diamond Edges won the 2011 Teen Premier national championship.

The St. Peters Rec-Plex figure skating program scored big at the recent Ice Skating Institute (ISI) Synchronized Skating Championships in Chicago. The St. Peters Figure Skating Association’s Synchro St. Louis Diamond Edges won the 2011 Teen Premier national championship as all six St. Louis Synchro teams that traveled to Chicago finished in the top three. The Diamond Edges brought home the Boyd Wietecter Trophy, considered the highest accomplishment for a synchronized team in the ISI, by winning the Teen Premier Round at the ISI Synchronized Skating Championships over the weekend of April 8 to 10, 2011. Ice Skating Winter Classic Coming to Rec-Plex

More than 140 figure skaters will compete from Feb. 11 to Feb. 13 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex.

Figure skaters from across the nations will be heading to St. Peters for the Ice Skating Institute Winter Classic in February.   The ISI Winter Classic run from Feb. 11 to Feb. 13 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. Admission to the event will be free and open to the public. The massive skating program—ISI calls it the nation's biggest recreational ice skating competition of the ice season—will take place at all three Rec-Plex rinks. There is one rink in the original Rec-Plex and two in the Rec-Plex South that will get used.  The ISI hosts several national events throughout the year, and the Rec-Plex has become a regular host venue.
