Julia Armstrong, 23, jumped out of a moving car and was seriously injured.
A St. Charles woman was seriously injured after she jumped out of a moving car on Tuesday. Julia Armstrong, 23, jumped out of a moving car just before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday on eastbound Interstate 70 west of Zumbehl Road. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Armstrong sustained serious injuries from the jump and was taken to SSM St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles. The crash report didn't offer an explanation as to why Armstrong decided to jump out of the moving car. Armstrong was a passenger in a 2007 Hyundai Sonata driven by James Anthony, 53, of St. Peters.

The closure will begin at 7 p.m. and is expected to be finished no later than 5 .m. on Thursday morning. MoDOT crews will be doing bridge repair work to the westbound I-70 bridge over Route 370. MoDOT is advising motorists to avoid westbound I-70 after the evening rush hour. As an alternate route, MoDOT is suggesting drivers use Route 370. Motorists using westbound Route 370 ramp will connect to westbound I-70 west of the location where the bridge crew is working.
