Man stole relatives' jewelry and tools, police report.

A man previously charged with stealing from the St. Peters New Old Town Picnic Committee also is being charged with stealing in St. Charles. Leslie N. Findeiss, 34, of St. Charles, is being charged with stealing jewelry and tools from a relative whose home he took of in October. The relative returned home to find that jewelry valued at $10,330, tools and equipment valued at $2,900 and $800 in change were missing, St. Charles Police said in a report. Among the missing items were her recently deceased husband’s ring valued at $1,000. Police said that Findeiss admitted to selling the items to support his heroin addiction. A check revealed that Findeiss sold the items to pawn shops. They were able to recover a snow blower and power washer.
