Just because the second phase of the Route 364 project will be finished at the end of August doesn't mean work will be done in the area. The Missouri Department of Transportation announced that it will close Jungermann Road underneath Route 364 for three weeks immediately following the Aug. 30 opening of the new Route 364 from Harvester Road to Mid Rivers Mall Drive. The start date for the closure is Tuesday, Sept. 4. MoDOT's contractor needs to replace the pavement on Jungermann as part of the overall Route 364 project. The pavement replacement could not be done until after the new Route 364 opened to traffic. The Jungermann Road resurfacing project between McClay and Williott Roads will continue with major slab replacements next week. The city of St. Peters announced that the resurfacing contractor will be performing slab replacements in the intersection of McClay and Jungermann in St. Peters starting Monday, Aug. 13. The road work is slated to begin at 8 p.m. on Monday night and continue until 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Various lanes around the intersection will be closed and detours will be in place during this time. All lanes will be reopened prior to the morning rush hour and during the day.

Crews were out Wednesday afternoon working on the replacment of defective concrete slabs between McClay Road and Willott Road. Once the slabs are replaced, the entire surface in this area of Jungermann will be diamond-ground to improve smoothness. Along with the road work, which the Board of Aldermen approved in May, Jungermann Road will see sidewalk repairs with ADA improvements, curb and gutter replacement, and traffic signal upgrades. Weather permitting, work on the heavily-trafficked St. Peters road is slated to start Wednesday with the replacment of defective concrete slabs between McClay Road and Willott Road. Once the slabs are replaced, the entire surface in this area of Jungermann will be diamond-ground to improve smoothness. Along with the road work, which the Board of Aldermen approved in May, Jungermann Road will see sidewalk repairs with ADA improvements, curb and gutter replacement, and traffic signal upgrades. While the work goes on, drivers will notice periodic lane closures in this area of Jungermann Road. The project is expected to be finished by October 2012.

The St. Peters Board of Aldermen will soon vote on a contract to begin the third phase of the Jungermann Road project later this spring.
A portion of Jungermann Road could soon undergo a facelift. The third, and final, phase of the Jungermann Road resurfacing project could being later this spring if the Board of Aldermen approve the contracts at the May 10 meeting. The third phase will take place on a 1.2 mile stretch of road from Old Highway 94 South to Highway 364. Along with getting a new surface, traffic signals will be updates, sidewalks will be added and intersections and crosswalks will be updated to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. As has been done on other resurfaced roads, most recently a portion of Mexico Road, diamond grinding to provide a smooth surface will take place. St. Peters’ roads are set to get a fresh coat of reflective paint starting on April 9.
With the weather warming up, St. Peters' roads will get new pavement markings beginning Monday. Work crews are expected to begin re-painting lane lines and intersection markings beginning Monday, April 9, 2012, as long as the weather permits. Crews will start on main raise like Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Jungermann Road and Mexico Road. The pavement marking operations will primarily take place on busier roads that act as main arteries for traffic and collector roads through neighborhoods. Once the main roads have a fresh coat of pant, crews will move to the smaller roads. The street pavement marking is expected to be complete in about two weeks. As part of the Route 364 Project, Jungermann Road at Route 94 will be shut down for three nights beginning Monday. A traffic shift will also take place Tuesday as part of the continuing road improvement project.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will begin work on the Route 364 project this week that will impact two locations along Route 94. Beginning tonight, Monday, Aug. 29, MoDOT crews will close Jungermann Road between the north and the south outer roads. For three nights, Jungermann will be shut down between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m so workers can place girders for the bridge over Jungermann Road. Drivers can use Queensbrooke Road and Harvester Road to detour around the nightly closures. The last night of closurers is expected to be Aug. 31.
