Board of Aldermen Ready for First February Meeting

Light work session and meeting agendas on tap for the first meeting this month of the St. Peters board.

The last time the St. Peters Board of Aldermen got together, they were faced with a short meeting agenda and a longer work session agenda. Thursday night the script be reversed. The Board is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. for a work session and 7 p.m. at the St. Peters Justice Center. If the length of the agendas are any indication, it could be a short day of work for the Mayor and the Aldermen. The work session agenda has just two main of contention. First off, the Board will discuss a draft resolution relating to property taxes. The Board will be discussing a proposal to write off unpaid property taxes that are more than five years past due. Marlite issue inside the building has caused a dispute between the city and Orf Construction. Orf claims the city owes $177,353.

Aldermen Set to Vote on Police Car Purchase

The St. Peters Board of Aldermen will decide if the city should purchase eight new police cruisers at the meeting on Thursday night.

Voting in Thursday's meeting of the St. Peters Board of Aldermen isn't likely to take too much time. During the first meeting of 2012, the Board listened to a presentation about the need to add eight new cars. Tonight, during the meeting which begins at 7 p.m. at the Justice Center, the Board will decide if the city should go through with the purchase. After the city decided to not purchase any new cars in 2011 in an effort to save money, the St. Peters Police Department is looking to add some new cars to the fleet to replace the older or broken-down cars. The eight new cars will cost $23,373 each, for a total cost of $186,984. The cars will be new Ford Police Cruisers, different than the model the department currently uses.  The vote on …

Board of Aldermen work session begins at 5 p.m. and meeting begins at 7 p.m.

A little snow shouldn't keep the St. Peters Board of Aldermen from meeting for the first time in 2012.  After nearly a month away from the Justice Center, the Board returns for the first meeting of January, and the first time in 2012. The Board will kick things off with a 5 p.m. work session. At 7 p.m. the actual meeting will begin. The work session will have two items of old business to discuss. The first item is an update to the utility bills and meals on wheels program. St. Peters Aldermen Ready to Meet

St. Peters Board of Aldermen will hold second meeting of October at 5 p.m. tonight.

For the second time this month, the St. Peters Board of Aldermen will be competing with the St. Louis Cardinals. While most eyes will be on the Cards as they take on the Texas Rangers in Game 6 of the World Series, the Board will gather to the Justice Center for the second meeting of October. The work session will start at 5 p.m. with the meeting to follow at 7 p.m. The work session meeting will kick off with discussion on a draft ordinance on the Proposed Water Service Line Insurance Program. The goal of the discussion is to put a measure on the ballot for the April 3rd, 2012, election. The ordinance would impose a tax on residents to repair water lines. St. Peters Board of Aldermen will meet at 5 p.m. tonight at the Justice Center.

The St. Peters Board of Aldermen shouldn't spend too much time in the Justice Center for Thursday's meeting.  The agenda for the first October meeting is far from lengthy. The work session, which begins at 5 p.m., contains just seven items. Following the work session, at the regular meeting, has just five voting items for the Board to consider. The biggest item on the work session is the first. The Mayor will lead a discussion regarding elected officials' governmental concerns. Planning and Zoning Commission Set for October Meeting

The St. Peters Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Public hearings take up most of the agenda for Wednesday night's St. Peters Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. Five public hearings are on the agenda for the the October meeting. Three of the hearings are old business while the other two are new business.  For the third month straight, T-Mobile is on the agenda for a public hearing. This time, however, T-Mobile occupies both old and new business spots. The communications company originally came to the Commission in August requesting a permit to build a tower in a residential area. The original location did not sit well with community members or the commission. Instead an alternate location was proposed. St. Peters Justice Center Open House Draws a Crowd

Tour groups get exclusive access at the St. Peters Police Department event.

The St. Peters Justice Center is a three story maze of offices, holding cells, crime labs and more. On Sunday, tour groups were able to get an up-close look at the recently-opened building.  The St. Peters Police Department hosted an open house from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tour groups met in the Municipal Court room before being given a guided tour of the building. Groups were given exclusive access to nearly every nook and cranny in the three-story building. The tours, led by St. Peters Police personnel, explored all the various parts of the building. Groups got to see the booking area, holding cells and labs. The tour also took a trip the Emergency Operations Center. Tours rolled on throughout the day with many people showing up for …

St. Peters will open the doors to the one-year-old facility on Sunday, Oct. 2.

The curious will get a chance to take an in-depth tour of the St. Peters Justice Center—and they won't need to be in handcuffs.   Just a little more than a year after opening, the public is invited to take an inside peek at the Justice Center facility during an open house Sunday, Oct. 2. The Justice Center houses the St. Peters Police Deparment, the Municipal Court and Board of Aldermen meetings. The basement of the building is also the emergency headquarters for the city.  The Police Department will conduct tours between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. during the event. Tours will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with the last tour beginning at about 4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The goal of the tour is to give St. Peters' …
