12 St. Peters Residents Come Up Winners in Missouri Lottery

Twelve residents were among those who won $1,000 or more playing the Missouri Lottery in October.

St. Peters Missouri Lottery Players continued their run of luck in October. After 10 winners won prizes in August, 11 St. Peters residents were winners in September. In October the number went up to 12.  More than $6.4 million in prizes of $1,000 or more were awarded to Missouri Lottery players during October. St. Peters Man $220,000 Richer After Lotto Prize

Hershel Smith purchased a winning Missouri Lottery’s Show Me Cash ticket in St. Peters.

Hershel Smith is a lucky man.  Smith, a St. Peters resident, won $220,000 after claiming the Missouri Lottery’s Show Me Cash jackpot. Smith used Quick Pick to select the winning numbers from the May 8 drawing. He new lucky numbers are: 4, 13, 18, 25 and 29. Smith purchased the winning ticket at the Phillips 66 Petro Mart, 664 Jungermann Road, in St. Peters.  Show Me Cash offers a rolling jackpot starting at $50,000, which increases by at least $5,000 at each drawing. Smith was the 198th Show Me Cash jackpot winner since the game started in 2008.

Missouri and 43 other states are considering how to proceed now that the government is looking at an old law in a new way.

It's a fantasy many of us have indulged in: Imaging what we would do if we were to strike it rich overnight with a big lottery win.  I'll own up to doing so. I've gone so far as to tell friends and co-workers I would not be one of those folks you read about who continue clocking in a work every day. Not me. If I won the lottery, I'd be traveling the world first class as soon as my lump sum check arrived. No annual payments for me! Problem is, I don't buy lottery tickets. As I purchase my groceries or fill up my tank at the gas station, I just don't think about it. The gift of gaming? So, what if a person could buy lottery tickets online? Would I be more likely to work these purchases into my routine if I could simply log on to a website …
