Fox2 Forecast: Hot Weather Expected for Memorial Day Weekend

National Weather Service is calling for temperatures in the 90s this weekend.

The National Weather Service is calling for scorching temperatures this Memorial Day weekend.  Temperatures for Saturday, Sunday and Monday are expected to be in the mid-90s. The Centers for Disease Control offer these basic recommendations that will help prevent heat stroke, sun stroke, dehydration and other potentially dangerous situations that easily develop in times of extreme heat: 1. Do not leave children or pets in cars. Even in cool temperatures, cars can heat up to dangerous temperatures very quickly. Interior temperatures can rise almost 20 degrees within the first 10 minutes, even with car windows left open. Anyone left inside is at risk for serious heat-related illnesses or even death. Pools Scheduled to Open This Weekend in St. Peters

St. Peters residents will be able to get a special rate at St. Charles pools this summer.

Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer and that means it's time to hit the pools for a lot of people.  Weather permitting, all three St. Peters pools—Golf & Recreation Center, Laurel Park and Nob Hill—will open to the public this weekend. The pools will be open from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The pools will remain open through Labor Day (Sept. 5). The hours of operation vary depending on the time of year and the pool. Pool passes are available for purchase at St. Peters City Hall and the St. Peters Rec-Plex. St. Peters resident rates are available to any person with a St. Peters Resident Privilege Card— also available both at City Hall and the Rec-Plex registration desk.
